New to GCaaS? We've answered some common questions about SeedLegals General Counsel as a Service.
How much does SeedLegals General Counsel as a Service cost?
Our legal advisory service costs an annual upfront fee of £4,999+VAT for up to 25 hours of expert lawyer time.
You must also have an active annual membership with SeedLegals: Plus or Standard:- Plus costs £999 + VAT per year
- Standard costs £499 + VAT per year
What happens if I run out of hours?
Don't worry - we'll keep you informed about how many hours you've used and how many are remaining. If you need more than 25 hours, get in touch.What legal matters can SeedLegals GCaaS advise on?
As part of your GCaaS subscription, we can advise on:- General commercial law including contract reviews and drafting
- HR and employment law excluding specialist employment advice such as TUPE transfers, redundancy consultations and disputes
- Data protection including data and privacy policies and general advice on the UK data protection regulations
- General company law
What happens if I need advice on a specialist area not included in my GCaaS subscription?
We'll be happy to introduce you to a partner law firm. If you decide to engage a partner law firm for any additional work, their service will be separate to your GCaas subscription. The partner law firm will agree their fee with you and you'll sign an engagement letter as your contract with the partner law firm.What areas can SeedLegals GCaaS not advise on?
There are some areas we can't advise on for regulatory reasons, such as conducting litigation, conveyancing, probate activities, notarising or the administration of oaths.
If you need advice in a specialist area not included in the GCaaS subscription, we'll be happy to introduce you to a partner law firm. If you decide to engage a partner law firm for any additional work, their service will be separate to your GCaaS subscription. The partner law firm will agree their fee with you and you'll sign an engagement letter as your contract with the partner law firm.Do I get my own dedicated lawyer?
Yes, you'll have a dedicated senior lawyer.
Your lawyer will get to know you and your business to work seamlessly with you, as if they were your in-house lawyer. They’ll help you decide how to work together, to best suit your company.

Your SeedLegals lawyer is a specialist with an extensive network - our experienced team has data and experience from working with over 50,000 companies. You're in safe hands.Can I still use the SeedLegals customer support team for help when I'm using the platform?
Yes, you and other admins on your SeedLegals account can continue to get unlimited help from our expert support team via live chat, video call or email.
Your lawyer has access to all your communication with SeedLegals to make sure you get a seamless service from the entire team here.With GCaaS, do I still have my Account Manager?
Yes, your Account Manager will still be a key SeedLegals contact for you. They'll be in the loop about how things are going with your GCaaS subscription.
Your Account Manager is the person to go to for questions about your SeedLegals membership, payment or using the platform.Will technical platform issues or queries come out of my GCaaS 25 hours?
Absolutely not. With your SeedLegals Plus or Standard membership, you have unlimited technical support - your GCaaS hours are only for expert legal advice.I'm a VC or accelerator. Can my portfolio companies use SeedLegals General Counsel as a Service?
Yes - we can offer GCaaS as a standalone service to individual companies, or VCs and accelerators can arrange this to cover legal matters for their cohort.

SeedLegals is not a law firm and we are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA). You can find out more about what this means for you in our Terms of Service.
All our advisory lawyers are individually regulated by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA) (for our lawyers qualified in England) or the Law Society of Scotland via the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission (SLCC) (for our lawyers qualified in Scotland) and are required to comply with the relevant regulatory standards and rules, as well as our own internal policies and processes. Your lawyer may work together with unregulated team members but they will remain accountable to their regulatory body for the work as a whole.
When you decide to subscribe to SeedLegals GCaaS, before committing to payment, we'll send you an engagement letter that sets out clearly and concisely our terms of service, your rights and how you can enforce them via the Legal Ombudsman or SLCC.Is SeedLegals insured to offer legal advice?
Yes. SeedLegals has technology professional indemnity insurance in place for its technology products and related services, including any documents generated on SeedLegals, as well as any bespoke documents that are prepared and approved by your lawyer.
This insurance also includes cover for legal consultancy services, which includes our GCaaS service.How does SeedLegals keep my personal data secure?
Data and information about you and your company which we hold at SeedLegals will be access-controlled on a need-only basis by your Account Manager and dedicated lawyer.
