Emma is a corporate lawyer with a sharp focus on venture capital. At SeedLegals, she’s guided companies from pre-seed to Series B, turning fundraising from a headache into a milestone. Known for her blend of deep expertise and straight-talking advice, Emma is passionate about legal tech, AI and championing female-founded startups. She loves helping innovative businesses cut through the complexity of fundraising and scale with confidence.

Since joining SeedLegals, Emma B has advised on standout deals including an $8 million Series A funding for Just Move In (led by Eos Ventures), Definely‘s  $7 million Series A funding led by Octopus Ventures (and with participation from Cornerstone VC and Zrosk Investments) and Ovum’s  investment from Morgan Stanley’s in-house accelerator, the Inclusive Ventures Lab.

Her experience also spans advising on strategic investments, such as Definely’s funding from Raine Ventures – the venture arm of US investment firm, The Raine Group – and guiding early-stage companies like xWatts through its $1.8m pre-seed round backed by top VC firms and angels, like Antler, Cambridge Enterprise, Parkwalk Advisors, R42 Group, and Cambridge Angels.

Before SeedLegals, Emma worked at a leading corporate law firm in Toronto. Now dual-qualified in Canada and England & Wales, she brings an international edge to UK startups raising across borders. On the weekdays, Emma’s all about cap tables and term sheets, guiding the next generation of UK startups to greatness. On the weekend, she’s swapping the deal room for hiking trails, a pilates mat or a good scroll through the internet’s finest collection of legal memes.
