Frequently asked questions
How to make the most of SeedLegals Boost
How much does Boost cost?
SeedLegals Boost is a £590 + VAT one-time add-on to a SeedLegals membership. Boost covers:- Letter of engagement for your SEIS/EIS Advance Assurance application
- Company review to assess SeedLegals Qualified status
- 2 months premium access to Scribe
Is Boost only for SEIS/EIS-eligible companies?
No. Boost supports SEIS/EIS Advance Assurance if you’re applying for it – but you don’t need to be SEIS/EIS-eligible to use Boost.
You’ll still get investor-readiness checks, the opportunity to become SeedLegals Qualified, and two months of managed LinkedIn outreach with Scribe to help you start investor conversations. How does Boost help with Advance Assurance?
When you apply for SEIS/EIS Advance Assurance, HMRC requires you to provide the names and addresses of potential investors covering around 30–50% of the amount you plan to raise.
That can be difficult if you’re just starting your raise and haven’t yet lined up investors.
When you add Boost, you engage SeedLegals and Scribe to support your fundraising. You can include your SeedLegals letter of engagement instead of giving details of individual investors you already have on board.
This allows you to move faster with your application. What does SeedLegals Qualified mean?
SeedLegals Qualified means we’ve reviewed the core equity setup of your company.
That includes checking your cap table against Companies House, reviewing your share structure, confirming SEIS/EIS Advance Assurance or that your application is in progress and making sure you’re set up properly to take investment on SeedLegals.
It’s a signal to investors that the fundamentals are in place and there are no obvious structural issues.
It’s not a certification of your product, business model or commercial potential. Why does the outreach happen on LinkedIn – and from my account?
Investor outreach works best when it feels direct and personal.
LinkedIn is where most angel investors are active, and messages sent there are more likely to be seen and responded to than cold email.
The outreach curated by Scribe runs from your LinkedIn account because investors are more likely to engage with a founder directly than with an introducer. It keeps the conversation authentic – and it means you have complete access to the conversation and contact.
Scribe manages the campaign for you, but the messaging is approved by you before it’s sent. Can I edit the messages sent out through Scribe?
Yes. Nothing is sent from your account without your approval.
Scribe will draft LinkedIn messages tailored to your startup and guide you on what typically works best. You’re free to suggest edits or adjust the tone.
Scribe’s approach is based on what has worked across many campaigns, so we recommend starting with their framework and refining from there. Can I reach out to investors myself?
Yes. You’re free to contact investors directly at any time. You’ll have the benefit of seeing how Scribe structures messaging and targeting, which can help you refine your own approach.
Your SeedLegals pitch page is built to be easy to share via a link and have everything an investor wants to see in one place – pitch deck, raise details, documents and key information. Can you guarantee investment?
No. Investment decisions are always made by investors and no outreach or platform can guarantee funding.
Boost is designed to improve your chances by helping you start conversations with investors found for you by Scribe, backed up by the SeedLegals Qualified badge and your SEIS/EIS Advance Assurance in motion. You’ll be able to progress your SEIS/EIS Advance Assurance (if eligible), go through investor-readiness checks, and get the SeedLegals Qualified badge to display – all of which can make your round more attractive.
You’ll also run a structured outreach campaign with Scribe, gain personalised messaging you can reuse and keep every investor connection you make.
Even if you don’t raise during the campaign, you keep the groundwork, the messaging, and the relationships – and you can continue building from there.
