What is an angel investor?
Angel investors are individuals who might invest anything from £1,000 to £100,000. There are thousands of angel investors in the UK.
Usually, your very first investors will be angels. There are two reasons for this:- Amount you're raising
In the early stages of your business, the amounts you're raising won't be enough to be considered by the other type of investors: venture capitalists (VCs) - Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS)
This UK Government scheme gives angel investors generous tax relief when they invest in new, 'high-risk' companies. If you have 'Advance Assurance' that investing in your company qualifies for the SEIS, you'll be more attractive to angel investors.
