An EIS fund is a venture capital fund used to invest in EIS-eligible companies. EIS is a tax initiative that incentivises private investors to support UK innovation and stimulate the growth of the economy. EIS provides tax relief for investors who invest in young, medium-sized and high-risk companies. **Good to know:** We use the terms ‘early stage’ and ‘late stage’ in this article to describe stages of funding. ‘Early stage’ includes Seed, Series A, and sometimes Pre-seed funding. ‘Late stage’ includes Series B and beyond. ## 50 active EIS funds Here’s our list of active EIS investment funds in the UK in 2025.
